Newsroom Positions: Anchor, Reporter, Videographer and Editor
Cheryl’s Story:
After graduating college I worked as an Anchor and One-Man-Band Reporter in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. While there, I covered everything from local crime, politics, tornado and flood destruction to the 101st Airborne at nearby Fort Campbell. In October of 2007 I began work at my current station, WTVQ, the ABC affiliate in Lexington, Kentucky, as a News Reporter. Lexington is a beautiful city and a wonderful place to work, and report. Here I'm also General Assignment so I cover anything and everything!
My favorite memory from BG24 News is probably when I walked into that first new members meeting, and I knew it was something I wanted to do!
I owe so much to BG24 News for getting a head start in my career. The experience I gained there has helped me more than any class I ever took in college. The editing, photography, writing, especially live shots - it all made an easy transition into my first job. Anyone who is interested in a news career should join.
Keep in touch all you guys!!
